Port Blair, Dec 07: At a high level meeting held at Raj Niwas today, the Lt Governor reviewed the cyclonic situation and relief operations being carried out by different departments of the Administration.
He directed the concerned departments to ensure timely response and coordinated action so that quick relief reaches to the people. Cyclonic weather witnessed in the Islands since last evening has unleashed its furry, resulting in uprooting of trees, disruption of power supply and flooding of some of the low lying areas.
Though no major damages were reported to life and property in the Islands and the situation seems to be under control, the A&N Administration is fully geared up to tackle any situation. The Lt Governor himself is personally monitoring and keeping an eye on the situation.
