123rd Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Gandhi Bhavan

Port Blair, Jan 23: Today on 23rd January, 2020 123rd Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated at Gandhi Bhavan at 9.30 AM along with other parts of India. At the outset Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Andaman and Nicobar Islands and National Secretary, All India Congress Committee Mr. Sarat Raut garlanded the portrait of  Netaji followed by floral tribute by All  the office bearers of PCC viz AICC member, District Congress Committee, Block Congress Committee, City Congress and frontal organizations viz Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal, NSUI, INTUC, Elected bodies and all cells and general public.

 

A meeting was also organized by the Party in remembrance of Netaji who is honoured as one of its most prominent freedom fighters. The Secretary, AICC and observer of AN Islands Mr. Sarat Raut in his address has briefed the life  history of  Netaji and told that he feels proud to be a part of the birthday celebration of Netaji at Gandhi Bhavan in Andaman Islands where Netaji hoisted National flag on 30th Dec 1943 and declared the islands as free from the clutches of British rules prior to Independence.     In his brief address Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC has stated that  Netaji is India’s most loved and iconic freedom fighter, one of the most dynamic leaders of India’s struggle of Independence & one of the causes of Indian freedom. His speechs, ”Give me blood and I promise you to give  freedom, Dilli Chalo and Jai Hind” have set the nation on fire for freedom agitation to end the British rule.

Mr. Mohammed Ali, Vice President, Smti Shanta Singh, Vice President, Miss Mariyam Bibi, Secretary,TCC, Mr. RV Reddy, Member AICC and Mr. A Tamil Selvam, Vice president, Mr. NN Nag, Block President also spoke on the occasion. Welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Noor Islam Chief Organiser, Seva Dal, who also conducted the program while vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Masih Lugun, General Secretary,TCC
