Port Blair, Feb.19: A 24 member Indonesian delegation, led by His Excellency, Mr. Iriansyah, Governor (chargé d’ affaires a.i) Aceh met Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A & N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency at Raj Niwas in forenoon today. Discussed impetus to direct flights/cruise tourism and trade linkages including import of quarry products, construction material, cement, stone aggregate, pre-fab structures, etc. With incentives/facilitation already in place, greater people-to-people and business-to-business connect, improved Air/Sea connectivity, Cruise/Yacht Tourism, processing of raw material, Free Trade Zone, Fishing, etc. as potential areas for cooperation and ongoing infrastructure development works in these Islands were also discussed during the meeting.

Later in the evening, the delegation was also hosted for dinner at Raj Niwas. Increasing cooperation, existing incentive structure, STS Transshipment at Port Meadows, Zero duty imports, etc. were also discussed in the presence of officials and business delegates from both Indonesian and Indian side.
