A & N Police is observing 29th Road Safety Week from 15th to 21st

Port Blair, Jan 17: A & N Police is observing 29th Road Safety Week from 15th to 21st January, 2018. During the observance of the week, on 17/01/2017, a Road Safety Walk has been organized and the Director General of Police Mrs. Nuzhat Hassan, IPS, the Chief Guest flagged off the walk from Cellular Jail which culminated infront of Netaji Stadium.
Around 1200 students from various schools and colleges holding banners, placards with slogans relating to traffic safety rules participated in the rally. Besides school children, NCC Cadets, Sport Authority Faculties, Police personnel and others showed their concern and solidarity for Road Safety by participating in the rally in large numbers.
The Director General of Police Mrs. Nuzhat Hassan, IPS along with Superintendent of Police (Traffic) and other Senior Officers of A&N Police, Police Brass Band and Pipe Band walked alongwith the rally till the end of the walk and all the participants of the rally on the Road Safety were addressed by the worthy DGP. The DGP interacted with the teachers and students and stressed on the need to continue making efforts to ensure safety on roads.
Moreover, lectures on various topics in the Road Safety were delivered today at various schools by Inspr. K.S. Tiwari at Govt. Model. Sr. Sec. School, SI Dinesh Meena at Carmel School, SI Anish Ibrahim at Mahatma Gandhi International School and SI J. Rama Krishna at Govt. Girls. Sr. Sec. School and almost 400 students benefitted from these lectures.
