A & N State Coop. Bank organises Certificate Distribution Programme for Toy Making under Skill Development of SHGs

Port Blair, June 28 : A One month Skill development programme of Toy Making was held by A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. In the concluding function for the certificate distribution Mr. Robert Lucas, Deputy Education Officer was the Chief Guest on 28thJune, 2018 at the Conference Hall of the Bank.
The programme was also attended by Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman, A & N State Coop. Bank, Mr. Rodrick, Village Captain, Kinuka, Mr. K. Murugan, Managing Director A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd, Mr. Kumaravel, Asst. Director, Handicraft Dept., and a large gathering of SHGs members.
Welcoming all the delegates, Mr. K. Murugan, Managing Director, A & N State Coop. Bank Ltd. congratulates the participants for their successful completion of the Toy making programme. He further advised all the members that they can promote their work in toy making by way of selling their finished goods in ITF, Flea Market, Sagarika Emporium etc. He further informed that the Bank and our management is committed to bring new polices for the overall Development of the SHGs members.
Mr. Kumaravel, Asst. Director, Handicraft Department, Ministry of Textile informed that the Department is promoting the skills of the SHG members in National platform. He further said that the Handicraft department also provides Advance training for Handicrafts items and people interested they can give their names and the department for the training programme. He also briefed the schemes of Central govt. to all the participants and also requested the SHG members and artisans to get themselves enrolled for the ID card issued by the Handicraft Department.
The Chief Guest Mr. Robert Lucas, Deputy Education Officer, in his key note address appreciated and expressed his whole hearted thanks to the Management & Staffs of the Bank for conducting various training programme for the upliftment of the SHG members. He further highlighted that these kinds of programmes shall empower the women’s of rural area and helps them in improving their social and economic conditions in their livelihood. He informed the gathering that getting a Govt job is not possible for all, but through this kind of programme one can earn their livelihood. He further informed that the Arts & Culture Department promotes the schemes of Handicrafts and they can avail the grant through the Department.
Smti. Elizebth Marry, Women Development Cell , A & N State Cooperative bank Ltd explained the various schemes of the Bank to the participants and appreciated the work of participants of Toy Making. She proposed the vote of thanks to culminate the programme.
