Art & Culture Dept to conduct Orientation Programme

Port Blair, Oct.23: In order to disseminate updated information related to various schemes for the promotion of art and culture at National and UT level, the Department of Art & Culture will organize ‘Orientation Programme’ for Artists and Cultural Associations on 30th October 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1.00 pm at Andaman Club, Port Blair. The programme is specifically designed to familiarize individual artists and Cultural Associations with regard to the revised rules and regulations of Government of India and A&N Administration for providing financial assistance to individual and groups.

The programme would be of immense value for the individual and groups interested in utilizing the government’s initiatives for promotion of art and culture. It will also provide valuable and updated information on mandatory registration in the Government of India Portal, preparing bye-laws for new Cultural Associations, maintenance of records and books of accounts, digital payments, submission of online applications, preparation of reports of activities and other related matters. The Department of Art & Culture proposes to hold such Orientation Programmes in other Districts as well for the benefit of artists and groups.

In this regard, Department of Art & Culture has invited individual artists and Cultural Associations to attend the Orientation Meet for their benefit. All interested artists and any two office bearers of registered Cultural Associations of South Andaman District can participate in the Orientation Programme. They may register their names in the office of Directorate of Art & Culture, A&N Administration, Cellular Jail Complex in person or over phone no. 231399 before 26th October 2017.
