ATL Model Port Blair Excels in NITI Aayog Contest


Port Blair, Feb 28: A team of students and teacher of Govt. Model. Sr. Sec. School Port Blair has made the islands proud by bagging the title of ‘TOP INNOVATORS’ in the field of HEALTH in the recent concluded Atal Tinkering Marathon conducted across various schools in India by Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) NITI Aayog. NITI Aayog made a list of 30 best projects of these event and the model submitted by this institution got adjudged as best one among them.
The students of class XIIth science, Master Binit Jaiswal, B. Vikram and Divankar Kumar Pal of Class XIth Science have developed the model under the guidance of Mr. Chanchal Dey, PGT (chemistry), ATL incharge Port Blair. The model ‘Disaster Stretcher’ is a community based model which will help the patient during emergency. The model is made up of natural resources like Bamboo and cane and is equipped with GPRS, offline map, infrared sensor, sonar, magnetic compass, rain sensor, camera. At the time of distress, the patient can be evacuated from the remote location to the near by Hospital for medical care. The model also has medical kit for blood pressure, blood sugar and ECG monitoring measurement kit and the real time data will be stored in the attached mobile, which will be useful for the doctors. Seeing the geographical situation of the Islands the model will be very much useful.
