Awareness Programme by Coast Guard at GMSS School, Little Andaman and Haddo


Port Blair, Nov 01: Indian Coast Guard conducted Government of India flagship programme on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ at GMSS School, Little Andaman and Haddo, Port Blair to spread awareness among the society to educate girl child, eliminate the discrimination between boy and girl child and to stop the trend of declining girl child Sex Ratio.
Inspector General KR Suresh, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) was the chief guest at GMSS School, Little Andaman during the event. The flag Officer emphasised various Government welfare schemes to promote girl’s educations to achieve their goals and thus will lead towards women empowerment in our country for all round progress of the nation. The girl students presented elocution competition during the programme. Mrs Jayanthi Suresh President CGWWA (A&N), Station Commander ICGS Hut Bay and Principal GMSS School were present during the awareness campaign. The program was witnessed by the gathering of approx 250 personnel including students, teachers and invited guests. The programme was concluded by the vote of thanks from the principal GMMS School.
