Baakprotima Observes ‘International Zero Discrimination Day’

Port Blair, Mar 04: The International Zero Discrimination Day was observed by BAAKPROTIMA, the only RNI-registered Bengali Little Magazine published from A&N Islands on 01st March 2018 in its premises at Junglighat through a cultural get-together. A number of local cultural activists attended the programme.
The programme commenced with introductory speech of Mr. Raisuddin Gayen, ex-Member (PC), SZCC. Later Mr. Kangkan Mondal, Music Teacher, Rabindra Bangla Vidyalaya presented befitting inaugural song. Smt. Sabita Bagchi and Mr. Raisuddin Gayen presented Rabindra sangeet.
Mr. Shaktipada Bagchi, Retd. Librarian was the Main Speaker on the occasion. He narrated how a segment of citizens in our country still, in this 21st century too, fell pray of discrimination in the name of race, religion, caste and creed.
Similarly, it is the ‘discrimination’ due to which the fittest persons are deprived of their legitimate entitlements. Hence, it is the call of the time that we should apply ‘zero discrimination’ in our way of life, Mr. Bagchi said.
The Programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Anadiranjan Biswas, Editor, Baakprotima.
