Case of Theft with a Tourist at Havelock Solved

Port Blair, Dec 31: A theft case of Havelock wherein a bag from a tourist was stolen was cracked by the speedy and coordinated efforts of PS Aberdeen and PS Havelock police and one accused person was arrested.

On 30/12/2017, a theft took place at Deva Resort, PS Havelock. Local enquiry was conducted and information was passed to PS Aberdeen from PS Havelock that a person after committing theft was trying to escape by taking speed boat for Port Blair. Immediately, a team was constituted with ASI Vijay Shanker, HC V. Hentho, PCs D. Shiv Kumar, Jayanta Biswas and Suresh under the supervision of Inspr. Arun Kumar Singh, SHO PS Aberdeen and sent to jetty.
As per the details shared by PS Havelock, the said accused person was isolated and searched and the stolen articles and cash were recovered from his possession within hours. Later on, the accused namely Bhim Sardar, C/o Shiva Hotel, Havelock and the stolen articles were handed over to Havelock Police for further course of action.
The entire operation took place under the direction of Inspr. A. K. Singh, SHO PS Aberdeen, Insp. Rahul Singh, SHO PS Havelock and overall supervision of SDPO (SA) Shri Nishant Gupta. The informant will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
