Port Blair, Feb 08: The Port Blair Municipal Council conducted a written examination for 33 posts of LGC on 21.01.2018 and based on the computerized evaluation of the Answer Sheets (OMR), the Statement of Marks was uploaded on 07.02.2018 at the website www.and.nic.in.
The Candidates have been Short-Listed under each category and the list has been uploaded on the same website. The number of vacancies for each category is as follows: 14- General, 13- OBC, 03-ST, 01-Person with disabilities and 02 for Meritorious Sports Persons. As per instructions of DoPT, Govt of India, in case a candidate belonging to ST/OBC who is selected on the same standards as applied to general category candidates and who appears in the general merit list is treated as own merit candidate for adjustment against, general category. Accordingly, it may be seen that many candidates belonging to OBC category have been included in the General Category also. However final placement of the candidates of OBC category will be decided after Type-Test and verification of their eligibility documents.
The Short-Listed Candidates are required to submit self-attested copy of their documents with regard to educational qualification, age proof, valid employment registration card, local and category certificates and other testimonials latest by 20.02.2018 to the Administrative Officer, PBMC. The candidate should also mention about their preference of language for the Type-Test (Hindi or English). In case no preference is given, it would be presumed that the candidates prefers for English. The Original documents need NOT to be submitted and these are to be produced for verification on a specified date and time. After verification of the original documents, if it is found that he/she is not eligible as per the notified Recruitment Rules then his/her candidature will be rejected irrespective of his/her performance in the written examination and the Typing Test.
The Short-Listed Candidates will need to undergo Type-Test on Computer tentatively in last week of February 2018. The date & time of the Type-Test will be announced shortly and the Fresh-Hall Tickets for the same will be available for download from 15.02.2018 onwards at the same website. The duration of Type-Test will be about 15 minutes and immediately prior to the Test, the Candidate will be given about 10 minutes time for practice/familiarization with the Key-Board. The required typing speed on Computer is 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi. The Candidates will get their result of the Type-Test at the end of the Test itself. The Type-Test will be of qualifying in nature and its marks will NOT be included in the Final Merit List. However those who fail to clear the Type-Test will not be included in the Final List.
The Offer of Appointment will be issued to candidates equal to number of vacancies under each category. Remaining candidates in the category wise Final Merit List will be in the Panel for a period of one year.
