Civic chief visits Dollygunj; directs officials for construction of road


Port Blair, Nov 12: The Civic Chief Mr. Indrapal Singh, alongwith Mr. Dharmendra Nararyan, Councillor, Ward No:17, Mr. B. Eswar Rao, Councillor, Mr. Avinash Kr. Singh EE-III(Works) with the Engineering staff of the Council visited Dollygunj area on 11th November and inspected a road alongwith the drain to be constructed leading from main road to chirayu Hospital and adjacent area. Taking a strong note on the issue the Chairperson directed the engineering wing to take up the construction work of the road immediately as the commuters and residents of the vicinity are facing immense problem due to lack of approach road and drain. Administrative Approval and Expenditure sanction for the said work has already been accorded.
Thereafter the team visited the land stretch near Shiv Mandir which is under the occupation of AH&VS and lying vacant since long. The Chairperson directed the Executive Engineer, PBMC to initiate action to set apart the land from the AH & VS for construction of water park which will fetch revenue to the Council. The team further visited Dollygunj near water section site office area where 1 hect land has been allotted to PBMC, the Chairperson directed the Engineering wing to make a viability cram to construct a one day destination for the islanders and tourist.
