Port Blair, Dec 06: Mr. Indrapal Singh, Chairperson, PBMC visited Ward No. 24 alongwith Councilors with Engineering staff of PBMC. Consequent on heavy rainfall a retaining wall at Garacharma ward No. 24 has been collapsed. During inspection it was observed that there is every possibility of further land sliding during existing inclement weather which may cause heavy loss to public property. To avoid further mishap and to protect the existing public property it is essential to raise a retaining wall for the safety of the people as well as public property. Keeping in view of the convenient and safety of the populace of that area, the Civic Chief directed the Engineering staff to complete this work in a war footing manner in the larger public interest.
