Commencement of Operation by Indian Coast Guard Ship C-422 from Kamorta

Port Blair, May 04: Coast Guard station Kamorta has been strengthened with positioning of ICGS C-422 at Kamorta and commenced her operations from Kamorta for Nancowrie group of Islands. A welcome ceremony was held at Kamorta jetty on 02 Mar 18 wherein Officers and men of Coast Guard along with dignitaries from various services were present during the occasion.

This positioning of Coast Guard surface asset will enhance its operational capability in the Nancowrie group of Islands and will also impetus assistance to local administration and tribal population during any emergent situations. Also, the Coast Guard in collaboration with A&N Administration is taking it as a challenge to develop support infrastructure and logistic support for new assets in Nancowrie group of Islands for their optimal utilization and swift deployment even to remotest corners.
