CS to inaugurate National Level Seminar on ‘Tribal Development’ at ASI auditorium on 7th Feb

Port Blair, Feb.6: The Department of Anthropology, Kannada University, Hampi, Tribal Welfare Department, Bengaluru, Govt. of Karnataka, Anthropological Survey of India, Kolkata and Akhil Bharatiya Adivasi Vikas Parishad, A&N Islands will be organizing a three day National Level Seminar on the theme ‘Indian Tribal Communities: Development Problems and Challenges’ from Feb 7 to 9 at Anthropological Survey of India, Port Blair. The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr Anindo Majumdar will inaugurate the seminar tomorrow (Feb 7) at 10 am at ASI Auditorium.
The seminar by the Kannada University in A&N Islands is the first of its kind wherein experts and University Professors from across the country will dwell on the issues of tribal development.
The seminar will culminate with a valedictory function on Feb 9 at 4 pm in which the Director, Institute of Andaman Tribal Research and Training, Port Blair, Dr. S A Awaradhi will address the gathering. The Vice President, Pokeland, Kerala, Dr. Jayarajan will be the chief guest.
