Port Blair, Dec 17: The Nehru Yuva Kendra, Rangat in collaboration with Education Department, Rangat is organizing District Level Volleyball and Football Knockout Tournament from 16/12/2017 to 18/12/2017 at Mini Stadium, Rangat in which 04 teams of volleyball for women and 12 teams of football for men are participating from the area Baratang to Mayabunder. The first match of volleyball was played between Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Oralkatcha and Karen Youth Club, Webi. The Karen Youth Club, Webi won the match by 25-08 and 25-18 in first set and second set respectively. The match was inaugurated by Smti Sapna Mondal, Up Adhyaksha, North & Middle Andaman. While inaugurating the match she urged female youths to show their interest in playing for their better health and sound mind and to encourage other female youths also. In this way we can contribute in making New India. Mr. Alphonce Toppo, District Youth Coordinator, NYK, Rangat proposed vote of thanks on the occasion. The final match of volleyball knockout tournament was played between Betapur and Karen Youth Club, Webi. The final match was won by Betapur in two sets 25-17 and 25-19.
The inauguration match of football knockout tournament was played between Netaji Club, Uttara and Sabari and the match was won by Netaji Club, Uttara 5-1. The first match was inaugurated by Mr. Sushen Mallick, Deputy Education Officer, Middle Andaman, Rangat.
The second match of football was played between Bakultala ‘A’ and Mahatma Gandhi Govt. College, Mayabunder. Bakultala ‘A’ team won the match by 3-0.
