Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat and NSS Programme Officers Review Meeting in JNRM

Port Blair, Nov 25: The NSS units of JNRM organised a meeting on Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat on 22nd November 2019  at Seminar Room. The Programme was inaugurated by Shri.R.Gokula Krishnan, Regional Director, Regional Directorate of NSS, Chennai. While addressing the gathering he highlighted the achievements of NSS over the years in the length and breadth of our country. NSS being the largest service organisation in the country with the student volunteers, is able to reach the rural households by taking responsibility in implementing the flagship programmes of Government of India like Swachh Bharat Mission, Swachta Hi Sewa, Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Fit India Movement and Ek Bharat Shresta Bharat., he opined.


Dr.N.Francis Xavier, Principal, JNRM said that  NSS is progressing in JNRM and other colleges and schools over the years. The special camp organised by NSS evoked good response among the villagers and they are looking forward for more such activity. Under the banner of NSS and Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, JNRM is doing many community based outreach activities in the rural areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, he added.


Dr.Kandimuthu, Programme Coordinator, NSS presented the report of the various activities being carried out by JNRM through regular and special mode. Earlier Dr.K.Venkatesan, Programme Officer Unit No.4 welcomed the gathering and underscored the activities under rural exposure visit. Dr.Santosh Kumar Jha, Programme Officer Unit. No.2 proposed vote of thanks and presented the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan activities.


The Programme Officers interacted with the Regional Director on the issues related to conducting the Orientation Programme for the NSS Programme Officers in Andaman, providing airfare to the NSS volunteers to attend the Republic Day Parade and other programme in mainland and disbursement of grants etc., The Programme Officers from DBRAIT, TGCE, ANCOL, GSSS Mohanpura, Govt. Model School, Abderdeen Bazar, GSSS Bambooflat and RBV took part in the programme.
