EMPLOYEES’ AGITATION DEFERRED: Emergency meeting of the Central Secretariat of NGGOA held

Port Blair, Mar 13: An emergency meeting of the Central Secretariat of Non Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association, A & N Islands was held at Crusade House unanimously decided to defer the proposed agitation in front of Secretariat, Port Blair on 14th March, 2018.
The decision has been taken after the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration called a meeting with a delegation of the Association on 12th March, 2018 on the demands put forward in Association’s agitation notice dated 2nd March, 2018.
The meeting called by the Chief Secretary which also attended by the Secretary (Personnel & Education) held a detailed discussion on various issues raised by the Association.
In the meeting Chief Secretary assured immediate direction to various departments under A&N Administration to end denial of MACP to employees with grade “good” in APARs prior to 25.07.2016. He set a deadline for filling up of promotional post and agreed to call a meeting exclusively to discuss issues related construction and allotment of Govt. quarters.
He further directed Secretary (Personnel & Education) to initiate necessary action for the regularisation of teachers from their initial date & appointment, NFSG to AC Cadre employees. He further assured to expedite the action for the re-structuring statistical cadre IT cadre. Also issues like updating of website of Administration, permanent grievances redressal forum for employees under A & N Administration were also discussed.
The delegation from the Association comprised of Mr. T.S.Sreekumar, Mr. R.Rajendran, Mr. R.Surendran Pillai, Mr. Clement Stephan, Mr. G. P. Mondal and Smti Suma Nair.
