MES Builder’s Association of India impresses upon the Government to release long pending payments

Port Blair, Feb 01: MES Builder’s Association of India, Comprising of thousands of builders spread across the country with 72 branches, held a peaceful protest and one day agitation throughout the country to impress upon the Government to release long pending payments which have been held up for months now. The builders have been taking up the matter with the local formations at branch level and with the Command Chief Engineers and Engineers-in-Chief at the head quarter level.
Mr. Surinder Chani Chairman of the Andaman and Nicobar Branch and members along with Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray M.P. A&N Islands submitted a memorandum to the Raksha Mantri. President Mr. Praveen Mahana and Hony. Gen. Secretary Mr. Balbir Singh Vij met the Minister of State for finance and apprised the situation. However, no funds have been released so far.
The builders feel deeply distressed that despite their various efforts to highlights their continuous problems, mainly non payment of pending RARs/ Bills, no action has yet been taken by the concerned authorities. Builders are unable to make payment to their workers in return affecting the daily work.
The matter was raised by builder members on 43d Annual Day function held on12 January 2018 at New Delhi with the Engineer- Chief. He had assured to resolve the issue at the earliest. More than 20 days time has passed and still no payments have been released,
MES Builder’s Association of India on 01 Feb 18 protest token tool down strike of one day to mark our deep resentment and to demand our rightful and justified measurers to safeguard our profession and our existence.
MES Builder’s Association of India stated that in case our prayer remains unheard, the MES Builders throughout the country will be constrained to go on a indefinite strike against their wish.
The members of A&N Branch of the MES Builders Association of India held a tool down protest outside the office of CE A&N Zone, MES Brichgunj on 01 Feb, 18 at 9.30 am and were led by the Branch Chairman Mr. SURINDER CHANI. Later, a memorandum was submitted to CE A&N Zone highlighting the genuine demands of the builders.
