MP demands filling up all vacancies of para-medical post in DHS

Port Blair, May 09: The lone Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has demanding for immediate filling up all the vacancies of para-medical post in Health Department.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Member of Parliament mentioned that it has been brought to his knowledge that there are many vacant posts in DHS. According to him altogether 48 posts are lying vacant, in which there are 04 posts of senior Pharmacist, 26 post of Pharmacist, 01 post of Senior Lab Technician, 09 posts of Lab Technicians, 05 posts of Lab Assistants, 01 post of Homeo Pharmacist, 01 post of UNANI Pharmacist, one post of Sidha Pharmacist.
“It would not be worthless to state that, delay in filling of the post is not only the matter for deprivation of the eligible local youth of these UT Islands, who are at the verge of over age and will lost their chance for participation in the recruitment process, but also creation of obstacle in smooth function of the department due to shortage of staff in disposal of Public Services,” the MP said in his letter.
He urged the Lt. Governor to direct the department to fill up these posts as per the recruitment rule in free and transparent manner.
