Port Blair, Dec 17: The Self Help Groups, Women Cooperative societies, registered Mahila mandals while interacting with the Member of Parliament during his constituency tour recently to Little Andaman and other area, alleged that despite submission of bills in respect Mid-day meals by the first week of every month as per terms and conditions stipulated in the award, the department of education is not clearing the bills since past 6-7 months due to poor monitoring of concerned authorities of education department and as a result, the self help groups and societies who are supplying the mid day meals are facing financial constrains.
Under such circumstances, the Member of Parliament, A&N Islands Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray has been compelled to take up the matter with the Lt. Governor and requested to issue necessary direction to the school authorities for timely payment of mid-day meals bills to the Self Help groups and other societies in every month.
