Port Blair, Jan 31: With the aim to create awareness among the students and colleges, about the concept and importance of cooperatives, The national Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project (Ministry of Agriculture & farmers welfare. Department of Cooperation). A&N Islands unit has organized a Workshop on cooperative for better living at Jawahar Lal Nehru Rajkiya Mahavidyalaya conference Hall on 31 Jan 18. Mr Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, A&N State Cooperative Union was the Chief guest on occasion. While Dr. Mrs Pearl Devdas, Principal (i/c), JNRM, Port Blair was the guest of honour on the occasion, Addressing the gathering the Chief guest has said that the concept of cooperative is very much importance, it can play a vital role for socio-economic upliftment of people. He expressed his happiness towards the efforts of National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A&N Island unit for creating awareness among the youth about this valuable concept, welcoming the gathering Mr Surendra Nath Singh, Project Officer, National Cooperative Union of India, Cooperative Education Field Project, A&N Island unit has said that the platform of cooperative movement. Dr. Mrs Pearl Devdas, Principal (i/C), JNRM in her key note address has said that the success of cooperative is only depending on active participation of members and good governance, Mr Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A&N State Cooperative and journey of state cooperative banks success. Dr. N. Rajavel, HOD Commerce, JNRM in his address highlighted the valuable importance of cooperatives in this island. Mr Abdul Rasheed, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies was also spoke on this occasion. 80 students of B.COM of commerce department of JNRM, Port Blair was attended the Programme, Vote of thanks proposed by Dr. R. Rajmohan, Proof. Associate, JNRM Port Blair.
