One day training programme on “Supreme Court Guidelines on Police Procedure”

Port Blair, Jan 02: The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands organized a three days course on “Supreme Court guidelines on Police Procedure” on 27/12/17 to 29/12/17 at PTS Prothrapur for the in-service police personnel from the rank of Police Constable to Inspector under the overall supervision of Smti. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Principal, PTS, Prothra\pur. The main objective of the course is to upgrade the skills of Police Personnel and to enhance the proficiency in their respective field through the procedure of Law and related guidelines. During the training programme Inspector D.Jagdishwar Rao, SBCID, Inspr.K.Joju, SHO Anti-Corruption, Shri Qumaruddin, Ld. Sr..APP, SI N.Zainuddin, Anti-Corruption, Inspr. R.K.Sharma, Inspr. S.K.Sarkar, Inspr. Abita Bachan and SI D.K.Seal have delivered lectures on the topic like D.K.Basu Guidelines on arrest with Latest verdict/Judgement, SC Guidelines on Rape cases, Landmark judgements of 498A and guidelines on misuse of family welfare committee, case reference-criminal revision No.230/17 vs. state of Delhi, Provision of search & Seizure, Procedure & production of accused in the court room, No automatic arrests, due process to be followed, Right of arrested person and Duty & responsibility of Arrestee Police Officer. Altogether, 12 Police personnel of various Police Stations/Units participated in the training programme. The course was coordinated by Inspr. Abita Bachan, PTS Prothrapur.
