PBMC Recruitment Exam- Beware of Fraud Calls & Cheaters

Port Blair, Jan 31: The Port Blair Municipal Council conducted a written examination for 33 posts of LGC on 21.01.2018. Some newspapers carried a news item on31.01.2018 about some calls being received by Candidates that their marks are low and these can be increased by transferring some specified amount in particular Bank Accounts. One newspaper has wondered whether the data has been leaked.
Here it is clarified that Candidates are aware that their details like names, father/husband names and telephone numbers were uploaded on the website so that they can ensure correctness of the details and get it corrected in case of any error. This was a considered decision to ensure that all applicants with correct details are allowed to participate in the recruitment process. Since the details of the candidates were available in public domain, anyone can see that the data and hence the question of leakage does not arise.
All concerned may refer the repeated advisories that neither any officer nor any political person has any authority to interfere with the process. All were clearly advised not to approach anybody either in the Council or elsewhere and in case any person approaches with false promises then a complaint should be immediately lodged with the Police.
In one case a complaint was received by the undersigned in the evening of 30.01.2018 about receiving a call for Rs. 50,000/- to get higher marks. The matter was immediately reported to the Police for further investigation and action as per the law. Since the complainant gave details like Phone Number and the Bank Account Number of the Caller, every effort will be made to take the complaint at logical conclusion. Infact the Police has very promptly started investigation and contacted the undersigned.
There is every possibility that few more candidates may be approached by such fraud/cheats. All are again advised not to come in their trap and immediately lodge complaint with the Police. This is again assured that the whole process of the examination is being done in highly transparent and fair manner. Those candidates who have performed well will surely get selected.
