Port Blair Oct 31: Rotary Club of Port Blair in association with ICAR-CIARI (Central Island Agricultural Research Institute), Port Blair organised a one day workshop for students in the age group of 18 – 24 years.
The students for the program came from diverse fields and locations including students from as far as Diglipur, Mayabunder and Webi. The participants were selected through an interview and screening process.
Altogether 12 participants were selected. These students were given exposure to all the activities and research work being done by this premier institute since a long time.
The students were also taken on a field trip to the CIARI Integrated Farm and were briefed about the advantages of the IFS model of farming.
The program also had one quiz section during the day.
The Cheif Guest for the concluding session of this workshop was Dr. A Kundu, Director, ICAR-CIARI. The camp was planned and coordinated by Dr. S.K Zamir Ahmed, Principal Scientist, CIARI. He also gave a insight into ICAR-CIARI works by way of a PPT presentation.
