SA POLICE RECOVERED GANJA PLANT AND IMFL BOTTLES

Port Blair, Dec 01:On 26/11/2017 an information received that one Mukunda Gain has planted some ganja plant in his Garden. On this a raiding team headed by SI K.Ilangovan SHO PS Neil, PSI BisavjeetPrasad, Constables Sanjib Das, Vishal Kumar, KamlaBaroi and Gurjiv, had conducted raid under the close supervision of Shri M K Shukla SDPO Havelock and recovered 4 Nos. ganja plant planted in the backyard of Mukunda Gain house which is more than six feet in height. On this a case under relevant section was registered against the accused and arrested from the spot and produced before Hon’ble Court from where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
On 23/11/2017 the Police team of PS Neil consisting of PSI Bisavjeet Prasad, Head Constable S.Das, Constables A.K.Das, Sanjeeb Das and KamlaBaroi while on routine patrolling,intercepted one person namely Jogesh Roy S/o late Ramakanta Roy (43 yrs) R/o Ram Nagar Neil Island who was hiding a jute gunny bag in the bushes of his garden and recovered 30 Nos. McDowell Whisky 180 Ml company sealed from his possession. Upon failure to produce any licence or permit for the IMFL, the accused was arrested under relevant act and later he was released on bail.
On 27/11/2017 an information received at 2230 hrs that one cargo engine dinghy No.19 has sailed from Jodakalan, Sippighat for Neil Island on which few quantity of IMFL bottles are loaded. Upon this, a raiding team headed by SI K.Ilangovan SHO PS Neil, Constables Suresh Kumar, Shiva Kumar, Mirnalkirtania and Gurjiv had raided the said dinghy bearing No. RCS 1307 JC No.19 near fish landing jetty Neil Island found three persons namely 1. BidhyaRanjan Biswas S/o Nibai Biswas R/o Curtbert Bay 2. Nabo Kumar Gain S/o Shanti Ram Gain R/o Sitapur Neil Island and Shanti Ram Gain S/o Late Chandrkanta Gain R/o Sitapur Neil Island while they were unloading a Cartoon Box containing 35 Bottles IMFL Royal Stag whisky 750 ml company sealed. The said IMFL bottles and the Cargo engine dinghy were seized, when they failed to produce any licence or permit for the IMFL bottles, all the three persons were arrested under Section 32 Reg. III of 1876 r.w.s. 34 IPC and later they were released on bail.
The entire raids were conducted under the close supervision of Shri. M.K.Shukla, Dy. SP Havelock and over all guidance of SP(SAD)

Identity of the informer will be kept secret.
