Sixth day of 64th All India Cooperative Week Celebration

Port Blair, Nov 19: The 6th day of the 64th All India Cooperative Week Celebration was inaugurated on 19th Nov, 2017 at Ferrargunj Panchayat Hall by Mr. T. N Meena, Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, (HQ) as the Chief Guest in presence of Representatives of various Apex Level Cooperative, Govt. officials, PRI members and a large gathering of Cooperators.
At the beginning, Smti Elizabeth Marry, Women Development Officer, A & N State Cooperative Bank welcomed all the delegates to the 64th All India Coop. Week Celebration 2017. She further informed the gathering that today is the 6th day programme on the ongoing 64th All India Coop. Week Celebration 2017 and today’s topic is “Role Of Cooperatives in Financial Inclusion & Cashless Payments Through Technology Awareness And Cashless Payments”. Mr. Thiyagrajan, Manager, NABARD spoke on the topic “Financial Inclusion & Cashless Payments” by highlighting the importance of Co-operative Week to the gathering. He further highlighted on the slogan “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” to the gathering and express gratitude each and every one who are present in the occasion. Mr. Mohan Rao, Lead District Manager, State Bank of India in his address informed the gathering regarding the Demonetization. From past one year many mutual funds and other financial agency’s investment have got increased which is taking India to the Digital level. He further underlined on Use of technology in banking activity which can lead to improve cashless transactions.
He also informed the gathering regarding many Govt. of India’s schemes on Deposits and Insurances like PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY. Mr. Randhir Singh, Sub-Inspector, PS Ograbraj, A & N Police also spoke on the occasion by highlighting the examples of successful Use of Technology in cashless payments and highlighted the Cyber crime sectors more effectively. He further spoke on the electronic cash by citing effective examples which may be helpful for the General Public. Mr. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director, A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd. also spoke on the Topic of financial inclusion. He further urged the general public to open bank accounts with RuPay debit card which will be useful in cashless transaction. He also highlighted that all banks are working on Bio metric ATMs which will soon come in the existence. He also highlighted various banking schemes and urged the people to join the bank for their socio-economic improvements. The Chief Guest Mr. T. N Meena, DRCS, (HQ) distributed the Loan sanction orders to 04 SHG Groups and their members for their livelihood works and also MEDP training certificates for Screen Printing & Mobile repairing to the successful participants.
He further spoke on the topic of “Role of Cooperative in Financial Inclusion & Cashless Payments through Technology Awareness and Cashless Payment”. He added that Resources can transform into the development activity of A & N Islands through Co-operative societies such as Coconut, Poultry, Milk, etc. He also appreciated the production work of Co-operative societies in the field of agricultural activities. At the end he highlighted that the cashless payments may protect additional expenditures and lead to a disciplined life. The Programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Anant Rao, General Secretary, A & N State Cooperative Union.
