South Andaman Police seized Narcotics, arrested Two Persons

Port Blair, July 06: Police Station Aberdeen busted two cases of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 and arrested two persons with over 2.70 kg of illicit Ganja from Atlanta Point.

After receiving credible information by SHO PS Aberdeen that Krishna Raj @ Babu, private worker R/o Dignabad is earning his livelihood by selling illicit ganja and he was in possession of huge quantity of ganja and intended to sell the same to local people, a raiding team led by Inspr. Arun Kumar Singh, SHO PS Aberdeen, HC V. Hentho, PC D. Shiv Kumar, PC Sudeep Kumar and PC Suresh was formed under the direct supervision of SDPO(SA) Shri. Nishant Gupta.

The team busted the NDPS racket and recovered 1.6 Kg of illicit ganja from the possession of accused person namely Krishna Raj @ Babu and he was arrested under NDPS Act, 1985.

On questioning, he revealed that another person namely Ram Prosad Ghosh @ Swamy is also involved in selling illicit ganja and he also has huge haul of ganja with him. On this disclosure, the above mentioned raiding team again came into action and recovered 1.180 kg of illicit ganja from the possession of the accused person namely Ram Prosad Ghosh @ Swamy (51 yrs) R/o Atlanta Point and arrested him under the sections of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985.

The entire operation took place under the direction of Inspr. A.K. Singh, SHO PS Aberdeen and overall supervision of SDPO (SA) Shri. Nishant Gupta.
