Training on ‘Yoga for Cancer and Endocrine Disorders’ for AYUSH Doctors and Yoga Instructors Inaugurated

Port Blair, June 08: To mark the occasion of 4th International Day of Yoga, two days training for AYUSH Doctors and Yoga Instructors under Health Department, NAM & NHM (including RBSK) was jointly organized by the Directorate of Health Services and A & N State AYUSH Society at Auditorium, TGCE, Port Blair on ‘Yoga for Cancer and Endocrine Disorders’.
The training was inaugurated on 08-06-2018 by the Secretary (Health)/Mission Director (NAM), Dr. Monica Priyadarshini, IAS who was the chief guest of the inaugural function. She emphasized that yoga could prevent cancer and many endocrine disorders. This training will help the AYUSH Doctors and Yoga Instructors to promote Yoga Therapy for the prevention of such diseases. The Director of Health Services, A & N Administration, Dr. S.P. Burma was the guest of honour. He highlighted the role of yoga in physical, mental and social well being. The resource person, Mr. Yogi Udai, Assistant Research Officer (Yoga), MDNIY, New Delhi will conduct the training for two days.
