KVK N & M Andaman organised programme for live telecast of PM address on Krishi Unnati Mela

Mayabunder, Mar 18: : ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (CIARI), North & Middle Andaman organised a programme to live telecast the speech of the Prime Minister at Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder on 17.03.2018. The programme was inaugurated in the presence of Smt. Kalpana Bain, Adhyaksha, Zila Parishad, N & M Andaman; Smt. Nachi Amma, Pramukh, Mayabunder; Zila Parishad Members; Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Ramnagar; Sarpanchs; PRI-members; President, Karen Welfare Association; Smt. Rajshree Prakash, Assistant Director, Department of Agriculture, Mayabunder; Mr. Tapan Biswas,
Fisheries Development officer, Mayabunder; Dr. J. S. Manhas, Principal, Mahatma Gandhi Government College; Dr. R. V. R. Murthy, Professor, Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Er. Manoj Kumar, Incharge, ICAR-KVK, CIARI, N & M Andaman, and other officials of KVK and line department. In the inaugural session,
Er. Manoj kumar welcomed all the participants and discussed about the activities and salient achievements of Krishi Vighyan Kendra, N & M Andaman. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Kalpana Bain asked the farmers to adopt innovative agriculture technologies for higher income. She also appreciated the effort of KVK in dissemination of such technologies among farmers. Smt. Nachi Amma, and Pradhan, Rampur expressed her gratitude towards KVK for organising the programme for live telecast of PM address on Krishi Unnati Mela.
Dr. J. S. Manhas discussed regarding the different schemes of central government for farmers. On the occasion, Mr. D. Basantia, SMS (Horticulture), KVK, N & M Andaman discussed briefly on KVK app, and Dr. Shardul Vikram Lal, SMS (Animal Science) motivated the farmers to use the same for KVK services. Smt. Rajshree Prakash, and Mr. Tapan Biswas discussed about the different government schemes for the farmers. Mr. Prashant Pradhan showcased the live telecast speech of the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of farmer producer organisations (FPOs). He said that the FPOs would be given relief on income tax. The Prime minister said that along with the green revolution and white revolution, we must stress on organic revolution, blue revolution, and sweet revolution.
He said that Krishi Vighyan Kendra will play an important role in this regard. On this occasion, Mr. Narendra Modi also laid the foundation stone for 25 new KVKs. After the completion of PMs Speech, Mr. Tanmai Paul proposed the vote of thanks. A total of 402 farmers, farmwomen and rural youth/ students were benefitted from this programme. This programme was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Dr. B. L. Kasinath, Senior scientist & Head, ICAR-KVK, N & M Andaman, and Dr. A. Kundu, Director, ICAR-CIARI.
