250 kg Crocodile caught from residential area

Port Blair, Oct 05: A Crocodile, weighing 250 kg, has been trapped by a team of Forest Department this evening at around 08:00pm from Andha Beda area near Bambooflat. According to reports, the crocodile was causing havoc in the area after it was sighted by people of the area.
As per reports, the Crocodile was spotted by the residents of the area in a Nallah, which is just 5-10meters away from the residential area.
The matter was then reported to the Forest Department after which a team of Forest Department under the overall leadership of Deputy Ranger, Manjit Singh and the DFO, South Andaman placed a cage in the Nallah to trap the Crocodile.
The cage was placed this morning and fortunately the Crocodile got trapped in the cage by this evening at around 06:00pm, which was then informed to the team.
The team reached the spot within one hour and rescued the Crocodile. The Crocodile was immediately shifted to the Haddo Mini Zoo. The male Crocodile is 2.80 meters in length.
