17 e-forms under SP & SSDG Project launched: Providing services to citizens on e-platform should be endeavour of all Departments: CS


Port Blair, Aug 29: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri. Anindo Majumdar launched 17 new e-forms covering four user Departments viz. DC Office, Electricity, Fisheries and Health at a function held in the conference hall of Secretariat here today. During the function, the Tribal Pass which was generated through e-form application was handed over to Ms. K Shahina Begum under Ferrargunj Tehsil. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, Secretary (Fisheries), SDM & ADM were also present on the occasion along with Directors, HODs and officers of the user Departments.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Secretary congratulated all the Departments for taking forward the e-governance initiatives despite the connectivity challenges and inadequate internet facility. The Chief Secretary emphasized that it should be the endeavour of all Departments of A & N Administration to provide all the services to the citizens on e-platform with a provision of auto update of status to the citizen. He advised the Departments to concentrate on high volume services and revisit the timeline of delivery so that they are in a position to deliver prompt services to the citizens. He also asked to include other services like Property Registration etc., which will be of immense use for common people. The Chief Secretary also urged the user Departments to make the optimum use of the e-forms and congratulated the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District for optimum usage of e-forms, which is more than 95 % of the total forms processed till date.

OSD (IT) during the presentation highlighted the State Portal & State Service Delivery Gateway (SP & SSDG) Project funded by GOI which is being implemented in A & N Islands since July, 2015 and as on date around 33000 requests have been processed and 75% services were delivered. He also highlighted that 98% of services are related to District Administration.

SOVTECH, the State Designated Agency for implementing e-governance project under Digital India Programme of Government of India has developed the e-forms to facilitate and enable citizens to download forms and submit their applications electronically through the State Portal (SP) routed by State Service Delivery Gateway (SSDG).
