Port Blair, Jan 22: Issuance of E-Way Bill has been made mandatory nationwide since inception of GST, however, it was made compulsory from May 2018 in Andaman & Nicobar Islands considering internet connectivity and other logistical issues.
In the wake of CANI enabled fast internet connectivity realising E-way Bills is no longer a problem. However, it has come to notice of the department that despite improved internet connectivity, various traders still are not raising E way Bills for supplies commencing from the island and Part B of E-way Bill is not being updated for incoming supplies.
