Port Blair, July 29: Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands has strongly registered his protest the decision of the Chief Secretary to stop the convoys connecting roadways between South Andaman and North & Middle Andaman and termed it as “Undemocratic and Autocratic overnight decision”.

In a release he said that a large number of people are stuck at both Districts of North and Middle Andaman and South Andaman because of the decision.

Further Mr. Ajoy Bairagi added that the decision is taken without consulting any political parities, elected representatives and PRI’s and such decisions should be taken in consultation with the stakeholders and public representatives.

He further assured to take-up the matter at the appropriate level. For meanwhile to give relief to the public Mr. Ajoy Bairagi has written a letter to the Director Shipping, requesting him to deploy Ships/Boats/Vessels from Kadamtala, Rangat, Baratang, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Little Andaman, Saheed Dweep, Swaraj Dweep, Campbell Bay and all other focal points of Nicobar District at the earliest.
