Port Blair, Sept. 13: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has completely computerized 56 services of Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, PBMC, Transport, Higher Education, Labour & Employment Department, Health Department for its electronic delivery.
These fifty-six services can be accessed by citizen from anywhere over internet or over WiFi through any device (Desktop/Laptop/ Mobile) by visiting the portal https:// edistrict.andaman.gov.in and www.andaman.nic.in.
Earlier, for availing these services, the citizens had to visit compulsorily the concerned office or the Common Service Center. Now with the improved internet connectivity, the citizens can avail these services over internet from their residence/WiFi zone and the citizen need not visit the Government office/ CSCs. The certificates and approvals will be delivered electronically with digital signature, which can be downloaded by the citizen from the portal without having to visit the office. This will enable the citizens in getting the government services at their door step in a transparent and efficient manner, a press release from Special Secretary (IT) said.
