MP inaugurates Indoor Badminton Court

Port Blair, Jan 28: On 26th January 2020 the Member of Parliament (A&N Islands) Mr.Kuldeep Rai Sharma in the presence of Mr.Bishnu Pada Ray (Ex-MP, A&N Islands) Mr.Vishal Jolly (Member HMAC) Mr.N.K.Udhaya Kumar, Chairperson, PBMC Mr. Suneel  Anchipaka,IAS  Secretary, PBMC and Mr.B.Eswar Rao, Councillor Ward No-14 inaugurated the newly constructed Indoor Badminton Court at Dairy Farm, Ward No-14. Mr. B.Eswar Rao, Councillor Ward No:14 welcomed the gathering.

The stage of Art Badminton Court was constructed under the MPLAD fund. The foundation stone was laid by the Ex-Member of parliament Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray on 2019 and the work was completed within the stipulated time.  Speaking on the occasion Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Ex-Member of parliament exhorted the efforts of Port Blair municipal Council for coming up with such an initiative for the well-being of the youths. While addressing the gathering the Chief Guest Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Hon’ble MP stated that an amount of 5 Crore is received under the MPLAD fund which is not sufficient to carryout developmental activities in the entire Islands.   He further stated that if the Civic Body comes up with good projects he will certainly provide sufficient fund carry out the project under MPLAD.

The Hon’ble Member of Parliament also re-iterated that after inauguration of this indoor badminton court the youths of these ward and the adjacent ward can avail the benefits. He further stated that due to lack of space for sports activities, the youths of these Islands are indulging in unwarranted activities. Mr. N.K.Udhaya Kumar, Chairperson, PBMC proposed words of thanks on this occasion.
