Port Blair, Nov 22: Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram is an All India Tribal Welfare Organization, serving for the cause of well-being and all-round development of the Tribal (Vanvasi) communities by protecting their rights, indigenous faith, culture and traditions.
The Andaman and Nicobar Island’s Unit of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram is also endeavored vigourously to fulfill the aims and objectives of the said communities in all nook and corners of these islands since 1987.
The Andaman and Nicobar Island’s Unit is serving under the guidance of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram established at Jashpurnagar, Chattishgarh founded by the Bala Saheb Deshpandey on 26th December, 1952.
The Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Andaman & Nicobar Unit runs 02 nos. of Hostels viz., Rani Durgwati Balika Chatrawas situated at Bakultala, Middle Andaman which exclusively for girls’ students and Jatra Bhagat Balak Chatrawas situated at Port Blair which is exclusively for boys’ students.
The said Kalyan Ashram carries out several other social welfare activities in the field of education, awareness amongst tribal communities, economic development, health and spiritual upliftment.
The Vanvasi Kalayan Ashram has been undertaking several socio-economic as well spiritual upliftment programmes in all nook and corners of these islands from time as per the Annual Plan of the Kalayan Ashram as decided in the State Level Karyakarta Sammelan.
The Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has now decided to organize a Prantiya Karyakarta Sammelan scheduled to be held from 23rd to 24th November, 2019 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Rangat, Middle Andaman at 12.00 noon. All Karyakartas of the Kalyan Ashram such as from the State Executive Committee, District Executive Committee, Nagar Committee, Temple/Village Committee and Priest, Full time and Part time workers and Ayaam Pramukh are hereby uged to participate with full spirit and enthusiasm in the said Sammelan at the said venue as per the said schedule.
The Prantiya Karyakarta Sammelan will be graced by Param Pujya Swami Ashimananda ji and Shri Atul Jog, National Organising Secretary, Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. The Prantiya Karyakarta Sammelan will be consisting of several sessions related to take stock of on-going activites with respect to the Chota Nagpuri Community & organizational matters. Besides these the Sammelan also includes cultural programmes such as folk dance and Bhajan – Kirtans.
