Port Blair, Aug 30: All India Kisan Sabha Central Committee launched a programme to submit a Charter of Demands to Prime Minister of India through District Magistrate all over India on 9th August, 2018 signed by farmers with the suggestion of All India Kisan Sabha Central Committee. In this regard the A&N Islands Unit organised signature campaign in two Districts of Andaman. The demands are as Complete liberation from all kinds of debt for the toiling peasants and agricultural workers; Ensure legal guarantee of MSP of one and a half times the cost of production for all agricultural produce as recommended by Swaminathan Commission and reduction in input costs; Immediate vesting of land in the name of the tillers and implementation of the Forest Rights Act; Pension of Rs. 5000/- per month to all agricultural workers, poor and middle peasants; Implement pro-farmer Comprehensive Crop Insurance Scheme covering all crop and income losses and ensure family health Insurance as well as insurance for animals; Statehood to Andaman & Nicobar Islands; Allotment of land to all old encroachers of forest & Revenue land 30 years ago; Not to shift or drive out the encroachers from encroached coastal region as they are the watchers and resisting force to foreign infiltration. Allot land to them; Increase MGNREGA mandays and minimum wages per day @ Rs. 500/-. Generate employment for unemployed and Compensate to all Tsunami victims land in lieu of land. Issue Krishi Card to every share croppers and contract farmers in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
