Port Blair, July 11: Andaman & Nicobar Administration organized Jal Shakti Abhiyan in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair, ANCOL, Gram Panchayat Wandoor at the premises of Govt. Middle School, Wandoor on 11 July 2019. Mr. Ranjeet Kumar Singh, Additional District Magistrate South Andaman was the Chief Guest and Mr. Ayyub Hassan Divisional Forest Officer, South Andaman was the Guest of Honour in this program.
85 sapling were planted during the Abhiyan. The District Youth Coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other dignitaries. Near about 100 people participated in the plantation drive.
Mr. Ranjeet Kumar Singh, ADM addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of Jal Shakti Abhiyan and importance of water conservation.
Mr. Ayyub Hassan Divisional Forest Officer, South Andaman spoke about the benefit of plants preservation and motivated the gathering to indulge themselves in more plantation drive to increase forestation.
Jal Shakti Abhiyan concluded by vote of thanks Mr.. B. Treemurutulu Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce (CS), Andaman College.
