218670 Sq mtrs of Government Land Restored from Encroachments


Port Blair, Apr 07 : The Revenue Department of South Andaman District carried out eviction drives against encroachments committed over Government land in South Andaman District during the first week of April and restored an area of 31020 Sq. Mtrs approximately of Government land into Government Khata. As a part of Zero Tolerance towards encroachment, these eviction drives were conducted in various villages of Port Blair, Ferrargunj and Little Andaman Tehsil.

During the first week of April 2021 and till date the Tehsil Office, Port Blair, Ferrargunj and Little Andaman Tehsil conducted eviction drives at various villages. The Tehsil Office Port Blair had conducted eviction drives at Austinabad village and removed encroachments in the shape of temporary structures, fencings and plant saplings. The Tehsil office Ferrargunj conducted eviction drive at Ograbraj village and removed encroachments in the shape of temporary structures and the Tehsil Office Little Andaman had conducted eviction drives at Vivekanandapur and Ravindranagar village and removed encroachments in the shape of temporary structures, fencings, plant saplings and arecanut saplings.
