Port Blair, Jul 11: The “78th Meeting of Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification and Release of Varieties for Agricultural Crops” was organised at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair on 9th July, 2017. The meeting was chaired by Dr. J. S. Sandhu, Deputy Director General (Crop Science), Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The variety release and notification proposals on different field crops received from different states were scrutinized and recommended by Directors and eminent crop scientists coming from different organizations/states of mainland. The meet is also expected to further strengthen and streamline variety release system in A&N Islands.
The meeting was planned under the overall guidance of Dr. S. Dam Roy, Director, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair and conducted in the presence of Dr. A. Kundu, Director In charge, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair. Shri D. S. Misra, Deputy Commissioner (Quality Control, New Delhi, Govt. Of India) was the Member Secretary of the meeting. The meeting was organised by Dr. R. K. Gautam, Head, FCI & P, Dr. P. K. Singh, Pr. Scientist and Dr. S. K. Zamir Ahmed, Pr. Scientist at ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
