Andaman & Nicobar Police Organizes Cross Country Run Under Yuva Initiative; A Marvelous Start For 2020

Port Blair, Jan 02: On the eve of New Year Celebration-2020 across the entire country, Andaman & Nicobar Police organized a Cross Country Run under the aegis of YUVA. “YUVA”, an initiative of Andaman & Nicobar Police aims at channelizing the energies of youth in constructive activities and bringing delinquent youth in the right track. The run was organized as a part of Fit India Movement launched by the Prime Minister of India.

Shri. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District flagged off the race on 01st January 2020 at 0600 hrs from Marina Park, Port Blair to Corbyn’s Cove with a total of 54 participants.

The closing ceremony was attended by the Chief Guest, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Shri. Vijay Singh, IPS who gave away the trophies to winners M. Chendra Shekar , Bhaskar, Gunmadi Prathap & B. Seranju secured first, second, third & fourth positioned respectively and a special prize to 11 year old Dinesh. The DIG is himself a winner of Airtel Marathon Police Cup in 2017 and has participated in several Marathon and fitness related events. He encouraged the youth to participate in more such events regularly.

The overall event was successfully organized by Smti. Sandhya Swamy, IPS, SDPO South Andaman, Shri. Narra Chaitanya, IPS, SDPO Bambooflat alongwith YUVA Coordination team.
