Port Blair, Sept 13: Under the new initiative of PM’s Programme, an awareness camp was held today at Ograbranj community hall, to sensitize about the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan Yojana (PMSYM), Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari Maandhan Yojana (PML-VMY), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).The Officers from Labour Employment and Training addressed the  target group and requested them to registered their names for availing social security benefit and skills training.

Shri Madhu Sudhan Baidya, Labour Commissioner & DET emphasized about the various schemes such as PMSYM, PMLVMY, PMKVY, NCS Portal and Social Security Schemes of BOCW.

While addressing the gathering, Shri CH. Venketeswar Rao, Principal, ITI gave impetus on the various courses of Employment skills training under potential employment modules.

Smti K. Binu, AEO highlighted the features and utilities of National Career Service portal.

A total of 250 participants from various walks of life were present on the occasion. The Labour Commissioner & DET appealed to all present on the occasion, to get themselves registered and avail the benefits under various schemes. Literatures and Pamphlets regarding the scheme were distributed among the beneficiaries. The LC&DET also requested the PRI members to help those to join by extending all support at their level.

The Pradhan and PRI members were also present. Shri Mohd. Saffique, Pradhan, Mithakhari appreciated the efforts of the Department for organizing such awareness campaign for the betterment of the weaker section and appealed to the gathering to avail such benefits by registering their names under various schemes.
