Port Blair, Nov.20: International Child Rights Day on 20^th November, 2019 was celebrated in a befitting manner by District Child Protection Unit, North and Middle Andaman District at Zilla Parishad Community, wherein students from different schools, ICDS functionaries, ASHA workers, staff of OSC, women officers from different departments participated. Deputy Commissioner, N&MA District Shri Awanish Kumar, IAS was the Chief Guest on the occasion.           Earlier students of the Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School participated in the rally from Helipad to Zilla Parishad Community Hall aimed at improving child welfare worldwide, promoting and celebrating children’s rights and awareness amongst all children. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance  of the theme of International Child Rights Day- 2019 i.e., “Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable”. Various speeches on issues like Importance of Education, Health & Hygiene, Child Rights and One Stop Centre, etc. was delivered by the invitees from different departments.     The Programme was ended with vote of thanks by the Counsellor, District Child Protection Unit, N&MA, Mayabunder, Smti Swapna to all who had contributed in making the event a success.
