Medical evacuation by ANC

Port Blair, Oct 10 (PIB) Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) carried out a medical evacuation, of a female patient suffering from obstructed labour, from Diglipur to Port Blair yesterday night. The female patient, required immediate medical assistance and needed to be transferred to GB Pant hospital, Port Blair.
Promptly around midnight, an Indian Air Force MI-17 helicopter was launched from INS Utkrosh to Nasshipur (Diglipur) and the patient was brought to Port Blair by 0400 hours in the morning. Subsequently, patient was shifted to of GB Pant Hospital and has reportedly delivered a male child.
ANC received the request, for airlift of the patient from Chief Medical Officer, Community Health Centre, Diglipur, close to midnight.
