MP Requests Chief Secretary to resume Sailing of Passenger Boat for Hut Bay

Port Blair Apr 07: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to make necessary immediate arrangements for sailing of passenger boat for Hut Bay urgently to bring the stranded passengers which includes patients and students who are required to attend their offline mode examinations at JNRM college Port Blair commencing from 9th April, 2021.
He said that after 28th March, 2021 there is no sailing of boat from Hut Bay to Port Blair and vice versa and due to which, large number of passengers including patients and students who are around 400 persons at both places (i.e. Port Blair and Little Andaman) are stranded at the respective places due to non availability of transportation facilities. Besides this, as many as 50 students from Little Andaman for attending their examination in offline mode (physical mode) at JNRM College scheduled to be held from 9th April, 2021 are also stranded there due to transportation problems. Therefore, he requested the Chief Secretary to make immediate arrangements for sailing of boat to Hut Bay to bring the stranded passengers and students from Hut Bay to Port Blair to enable the students to attend their examinations commencing from 9th April, 2021.
