National Book Week 2019 inaugurated

Port Blair, Nov 17: The Book Exhibition in connection with celebration of “National Book Week 2019” has been inaugurated by Shri Kamlesh Kumar, DANICS, Director (Education), on 14th Nov. 2019 at 05.00 PM at State Library, Port Blair by lighting the traditional lamp and garlanding the portrait of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in the presence of officers of the Directorate of Education Department, eminent persons, members of print and electronic media and library users of the State Library, Port Blair.

While speaking on the occasion Director (Education) informed to the media that National Book Week is being celebrating all the schools & public libraries functioning under the Education Department. Director (Education) further informed that Education Department is conducting various competitions and other library related activities in the State Library, all schools and public libraries with the aim to inculcate reading habit among students and general public.

Director (Education) has urged general public, parents and students to witness the Book Exhibition which is being organized in the State Library, Port Blair from 14th to 20th November 2019. Around 1200 books are in display which covers all the major subjects/languages including books for competitive examination & GK, biography of famous personalities, health, meditation, story, sports, novel, religious, children books, new releases of Andaman books etc.
