SOUTH ANDAMAN POLICE CONTINUES THE CRACKDOWN ON NDPS RACKETS; THREE DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED

Port Blair, July 10: The special squad of South Andaman Police has exposed a racket of drug peddlers and arrested three persons with 1.350 Kgs. of illicit Ganja.

On 08.07.2019, on receipt of credible information that three persons namely Zainuddin, Ranjit Kumar and Ganga Bahadur are possessing illicit ganja and are looking for customers to sell it near Juvenile Home, Nayagaon, immediately a team comprising SI Surjit Bhattacharjee, ASI Sanjay Yadav, PCs S. Nanak Singh, M. Raja Rao & Jayanta Kumar Biswas, led by Inspr. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen, was formed under the direct supervision of SDPO (SA) Shri Nishant Gupta.

The team, acting swiftly, reached the spot and after due identification, apprehended the alleged persons and recovered 1.350 Kgs. of illicit ganja from the possession of accused persons namely (1) Zainuddin S/o Late Gulam Rasool (37) Yrs., R/o Krishna Nagar, Opposite PRO Colony, Shadipur, (2) Ranjit Kumar S/o Shri Mem Lall, (25) Yrs., R/o Nayagaon, Port Blair and (3) Ganga Bahadur R/o Shri Neer Bahadur (21) Yrs., R/o Nayagaon, Port Blair. They were arrested on the spot under the relevant sections of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985. A case vide Crime No.382/19 dtd. 08.07.2019 U/s 20(b)(ii)(B)/29 NDPS Act, 1985, has been registered at PS Aberdeen in this matter.
