Port Blair, Oct 17: The Swaraj-Shaheed Sangh, Beadonabad, South Andaman, a registered socio-cultural organisation remembered the great Indian Scientist as well as the 11th President of India A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, on his 87th Birth Anniversary on 15th October 2017 by organizing a simple remembrance-function organised in its premises at Beadonabad, South Andaman. Smt. Baby Fareedha, Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad (South Andaman) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In her address the Chief Guest applauded the efforts of the Sangh for organizing the programme in such an interior / remote area of South Andaman for paying tributes to the great son of India, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. She urged the assemblage, consisting of mostly youth and teen-agers of the vicinity, to follow the footsteps of this great Scientist. Mr. Akhil Kumar, Vice President, Swaraj-Shaheed Sangh also spoke on the life and works of APJ Abdul Kalam. Earlier, Smt. Jharna Biswas, President, Swaraj-Shaheed Sangh welcomed the gathering. Vote of thanks was proposed by Smt. Raj Lakshmi, Member, Swaraj-Shaheed Sangh.
