Port Blair, Sept 14: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands is on an official tour to North and Middle Andaman District. During this official tour Mr. Ajoy Bairagi is meeting the general public of North and Middle Andaman and is trying to know the issues that they are facing now during these times of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this connection Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, BJP, A & N Islands along with Mr. Dipankar Mistry, Adyaksha, Zilla Parishad, N & M Andaman, Mr. Madhusudan Nair, Coordinator, BJP N & M Andaman, Mr. G Ananad, State General Secretary, BJP Yuva Morcha, Mr. Uttam Kumar Shah, Prabhari, BJP, Diglipur met the Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman District Smti. Angel Bhati Chauhan.
Street Vendors in Diglipur currently are facing a lot of issues because currently the timings for their business have been fixed in between 8:30 am in the morning to 6:30 Pm in the evening, whereas the peak hours of their business start from 6:00 Am in the morning. The delegation led by Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party demanded that their business hours be extended from 6:00 Am in the morning to 6:30 Pm in the evening and the Deputy Commissioner, N & M Andaman has assured that the issue will be seriously looked upon.
Further the Old Aged, Widows, Destitute and Handicapped citizens of the North and Middle Andaman District are facing a lot of problems these days because they have to queue up in front of the Andaman and Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Branches to get their respective pensions and most of them have to return home disappointed because of the issues of connectivity in the banks as well as because of the huge crowd. The huge crowd that gathers in front of the banks also pose risk of spreading the COVID-19 infection.
Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, BJP, A & N Islands took a serious note of it and raised the issue before the Deputy Commissioner, N & M Andaman District. Mr. Bairagi further suggested that a system be implemented to dispatch the Old Age, Widow, Destitute and Handicap Pensions right at the doorsteps of the beneficiaries through the employees of the Social Welfare Department. The Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman assured to start the dispatch of the pensions to the door steps of the beneficiaries as soon as possible.
During these times of the pandemic it is important that we support the lower strata of the society and that was the main aim of the tour of Mr. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, BJP, A & N Islands to the N & M Andaman District.
